FAQ

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding treatment with Allimeden

IS TREATMENT PAINFUL?

Like any therapeutic intervention, there are some risks and potential side effects to be aware of:

Temporary Discomfort: It's common to experience some minor discomfort during or after treatment, as we're working with sensitive areas that may already be experiencing some level of pain or dysfunction.

Tissue Sensitivity: Scar tissue release, in particular, can sometimes result in temporary sensitivity in the treated area.

Medication Interactions: If you're taking medications, especially anti-coagulants or certain pain relievers, it's crucial to inform us as it might affect your treatment protocol or risk of bleeding.

Underlying Medical Conditions: If you have any underlying medical conditions like TMJ disorders, oral infections, or specific types of nerve damage, this treatment may not be appropriate for you.

Before starting any treatment, we conduct a thorough assessment to evaluate if this approach is suitable for you. And of course, we encourage open communication throughout your treatment plan to adjust protocols according to your comfort and feedback. In some instances we may need a medical clearance prior to starting any therapy.

We always inform our patients that we need to put them in pain to get them out of pain. Pain is a way for our body to tell us what is wrong and where. In order for Rebecka to be effective in her treatment she is looking for specific pain points to alleviate them. Towards the end of the treatment phase most clients experience little to no pain at all. The initial consultation can be completed with little or no discomfort.

DO I NEED X-RAYS?

We HIGHLY encourage our clients to provide us with as much information as possible especially if there is a Jaw Joint issue or hardware placed during surgery. This way Rebecka can adjust treatment as needed.

WHAT WILL IT COST?

Since all patients are different, we must complete your consultation before establishing your treatment plan and the fee for care. The fee for treatment can vary considerably depending on the type of problems and the complexity and length of treatment. An approximate fee can usually be determined at the initial visit; but on occasion, some initial treatment or further co-diagnostics must be completed before the final treatment planning can be established. Our philosophy of practice is to treat as conservatively as possible to attain treatment goals.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER THE COST?

We operate as an out-of-network, fee-for-service provider, which means we don't have direct contracts with insurance companies for reimbursement. However, some of our clients have successfully received some reimbursement from their insurance companies by submitting the necessary documentation that we provide, such as itemized receipts and treatment plans IF they have OUT OF NETWORK massage therapy coverage. This is something you would need to discuss with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits and what portion, if any, they may cover. We accept various forms of payment including cash, checks, and credit cards, and we can provide you with all the documentation needed to file for reimbursement on your end. We understand that cost is an important factor in healthcare, and we're committed to providing excellent value for our services.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL?

It depends on your insurance plan and the specific requirements they have in place. Some plans do require a referral from a primary care physician for specialist services, while others may not. To be certain, I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly—they'll be able to give you the most accurate information regarding referrals and any other prerequisites for coverage. If you do need a referral and aren't sure how to obtain one, I'd be happy to guide you through the process. Additionally, our team can assist you in understanding your insurance benefits and any out-of-pocket costs you might incur.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

The timeline for seeing results can vary widely from person to person, based on several factors: Severity of Condition: The extent of surgical intervention and existing complications can influence how quickly you'll see improvements. Individual Healing Rate: Everyone heals at different rates. Factors like age, overall health, and even stress levels can play a role in your body's ability to recover. Compliance with Treatment: Consistent attendance to scheduled sessions and adherence to any at-home care instructions can significantly speed up recovery time. Type of Surgery: Different types of surgical procedures have varied healing timelines, and this can affect how quickly rehabilitation measures can take effect. Generally speaking, many of our clients begin to experience some form of relief or improved function within a few sessions. However, full recovery or achieving significant improvements may take weeks to months of consistent treatment. It's essential to note that while our treatments aim for the most efficient recovery, rehabilitation is often a process that requires time and patience. We assess your progress regularly and may adjust your treatment plan as needed to ensure you're on the most effective path to recovery. The best way to get an accurate estimate tailored to you is through an initial evaluation, where we can understand your unique situation and set more precise expectations

DO I NEED A MEDICAL CLEARANCE?

Medical clearance is sometimes necessary to ensure your safety and well-being during treatment, especially if you have pre-existing medical conditions or have recently undergone surgery. What we recommend is discussing your interest in our services with your primary healthcare provider. They can assess whether a medical clearance is necessary based on your medical history and current health status. If you do need medical clearance, we’re here to support you and can provide any additional information your healthcare provider might require to assess your suitability for our services. Our priority is your health and safety, and we’re committed to working closely with you and your doctor to ensure the best care.
